Rooftop Resort in Hollywood Beach mixes a 24/7 nude pool with lower‑level playrooms and parties. Great for nude sunbathing, but meh on the rooms and play.
Rooftop Resort is kind of a legend in South Florida’s swinger scene – equal parts infamous and iconic. Perched atop a retro-looking hotel in Hollywood (not the celeb one, the Florida one), this BYOB, clothing-optional venue promises steamy rooftop parties, full-access playrooms, and a sexy social vibe. Sounds like a dream, right? Well… yes and no. Depending on your expectations, it’ll either feel like a low-key paradise or a sunburnt disappointment.
We dish on all this and more plus give lots of questionable newbie advice on the Vanilla Swingers podcast.

👀 First Impressions – Pulling up on Hollywood Beach’s iconic A1A, Rooftop doesn’t shout “swinger paradise.” From the outside it looks like a weathered beach motel with an industrial vibe, giving motel vibes over resort vibes. The front entrance does not scream luxury. It’s more “no-tell motel” than sexy swinger escape. You check in through a glass window that feels more DMV than dreamy. Parking is limited, awkward, and you’ll probably loop a few times unless you’re lucky. First-timers, don’t expect signage or sleek service – you’re on your own, babes. Let’s just say… if first impressions matter to you, pack a blindfold.
🎟️ Inside Tour – Rooftop occupies a six‑story building with an open atrium 70’s motel style layout — janky rooms lining interior walkways, windows into hallways if you leave your door open (voyeur opportunity if that’s your vibe), and a mix of spaces that feel like a hotel version of a nudist retreat + social club.
-
Top Floor (Rooftop Pool, Level 6): A 24/7 nude pool, overlooking Hollywood Beach, surrounded by loungers and sun‑seekers.
-
Second Floor (Bar & Play Lounge): A courtyard/bar area with DJ, dance floor, and places to mingle. BYOB is a plus here, with a friendly bartender to mix your own stash at night.
-
Third Floor (Playrooms & Dance): Several playrooms with couches, swings, benches, a big round bed, and even a sauna.
-
Guest Rooms: Basic but clean and comfortable, with big window openings into shared corridors – cute if you like exhibitionism, annoying if you want privacy.
PSST! Don't Miss!
Trapeze Ft Lauderdale Review
💦 Pool – The pool is clothing-optional central, and honestly, it’s where Rooftop shines and stumbles. On a sunny weekend, it’s a blast – boozy, flirty, with a DJ spinning and couples mingling. Yay! You’ll see it all – body glitter, tan lines, and the occasional sex swing selfie.
But don’t get it twisted – sex on the pool deck is NOT allowed. No splashing and smashing. Once high‑rise neighbors like Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort popped up next door, discretion became mandatory. The raciest thing you’ll see up top is some heavy grinding in the hot tub and a few wandering hands under towels.
🏨 Accommodations – The rooms are the definition of functional at best, frat house flashback at worst. You’ll find standard king beds, mirrors, and maybe a sprinkle of retro Vegas motel charm if you squint. But the wear and tear is real. Think stained carpets, wonky light fixtures, and that lingering musty vibe you can’t quite Febreze away. You’re not here for five-star sheets, you’re here for the nude vibe and to get laid.
The building itself is old, with slow elevators and worn common areas that evoke more “budget beach hotel” than “resort with lifestyle vibes.” Many opt for day passes and book elsewhere on Hollywood Beach for their overnight stays which does make the evening hours a bit of a ghost town.
🍒 Playrooms – Rooftop’s playrooms are a mixed bag. Scattered across the second and third floors, a couples floors down from the pool, the rooms are in theory, full-access, sexy zones for exhibitionist fun. There’s even a voyeur balcony if you like to watch.
Couches and lounging areas for social play
Swings, benches, and a sauna for kinkier angles
A large round bed that looks sexy but rarely feels like the epicenter of chaos
Reality check: Sometimes these rooms are dead. Like, awkwardly silent except for the creak of an old mattress. You might walk in and find one couple mid-session… or nothing at all. Evenings especially can be dead after day pass visitors leave.
🔥 Vibe check – Rooftop Resort can be a love-it-or-hate-it experience. The vibe leans nudist-first, lifestyle-second. That means you’ll see a lot more naked bodies than active play, especially during the day. The crowd is a mixed bag, age-wise. Guests typically fall into the 40s–60s age range, with a handful of younger, cute couples on busier weekends. But let’s be real – if you’re expecting a supercharged sex club vibe, this isn’t it. Plus it can get into the single guy wanking dead territory, so buyer beware.
⚠️ Should you go? – If you vibe with naked mingling, BYOB chill, and making your own fun, Rooftop’s got potential. Just don’t expect Bliss Cruise energy in a Hollywood Beach hotel. Rooftop is worth a visit if you’re into nude vibes, poolside mingling, and laid-back chilling near the beach – especially on weekends with DJs or BBQ parties. Just don’t expect luxury or guaranteed play. The sexier energy depends on the crowd, and the aging rooms don’t exactly scream “resort.” Bring your own drinks, some patience, and keep expectations casual.
Naughty Links and Extras! (Fun, Irreverent, and Maybe Passably Useful)
